The founder of the Pool Renovators, Fibreglass Pool Lining (Pty) Ltd, Mr Volker Wilde, born in Berlin, Germany, immigrated in 1975 together with his family to South Africa.

With him he brought his long experience and latest technology in industrial fibreglass lining of chemical tanks for mining companies and acid resistant tanks for chemical plants.

After researching the market, he founded a company to produce fibreglass industrial products, mainly fibreglass reinforced pipes, acid resistant tanks and fibreglass lining of dams.

Due to ever increasing demand for the products, the company gained respect and success. At this stage no plans existed to break into the domestic pool renovation market.

Many unsuccessful attempts to have swimming pools repaired made good friends approach him to find a permanent answer to their problems. The company fibreglass-lined their swimming pools.

Word of mouth increased the demand to fibreglass-lined pools to such an extent that a new company was formed. The Pool Renovators.

  

The success of the company grew so quickly that enquiries from all over South Africa were received. To satisfy the countrywide clients, branches were opened in Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, Klerksdorp, East Rand, Vaal Triangle and Pietermaritzburg.
